As you gain experience bird-watching, it might be easier to remember a transient Neotropical migrant bird's size in comparison to year round neighborhood birds.

1. Very Small (4" or less)
2. Sparrow-sized (about 6")
3. Robin-sized (about 10")
4. Pigeon-sized (13")
5. Crow-sized (about 17")
6. Goose-sized (most around 25"
with some as much as 45")
7. Very Large (over 20" with 2-5 foot wingspans)
